BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Black Angel work invites material the nervous system has spent years keeping out of sight. That invitation is real, and it can open more than a reader expects. Material that has been refused for decades can return with the original intensity it carried when it was first sent away.
For some readers, the practice will be a gentle reclamation. For others — particularly those carrying significant trauma, a history of abuse, dissociation, PTSD, panic, or any condition that has previously overwhelmed the system — deliberate invitation of refused material can produce flashback, dissociation, panic response, or the opening of material that the system cannot close again on its own.
If you are working with serious trauma, this practice is not the place to begin alone. Find skilled support first — a trauma-informed therapist, a somatic practitioner, or someone trained in working with shadow material. Then return to the framework if you choose.
If you are not certain whether this applies to you, the safer starting place is IMPACT. Meeting what is arising in the body in the present moment is a more contained practice than deliberately inviting refused material back. The same warmth. The same mechanism. A different threshold.
There is no virtue in doing this work alone. The most powerful thing warmth can do is be received from another human being while your own system is learning what warmth is.
This page describes the practice. It is not a substitute for skilled support.
